Technically, writing this book is the reason that Card fleshed EG out into a novel in the first place. The intended sequel to Ender's Game is Speaker for the Dead, which follows Ender on is relativistic journeys some 3,000 or so years later. If you are planning to read everything, publication order makes the most sense, as that way the nomenclature evolves normally with your reading, and you don't get random plot points spoiled because OSC assumed everyone read the published books. If you like or dislike one book it's no guarantee that you'll like or dislike a different book.Īnd a lot of the series isn't directly dependent on every book so you can often skip the ones that don't work for you.
